The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is playing an active role in addressing the ongoing coronavirus crisis, supporting its members through finance, knowledge-sharing and partnerships.
To update Asia House Corporate Members on the ADB’s work during the crisis and the wider impact of the COVID-19 outbreak across developing Asia, Ahmed Saeed, ADB Vice President, took part in a digital Asia House briefing today (7 April).
Speaking from Manila via video, Saeed shared the latest ADB analysis on how the coronavirus pandemic will shape economies in the region – including insights from the recent Asian Development Outlook, published each year by the bank.
Asia House Corporate Members joined the briefing from around the world, with Saeed taking questions on the role of the private sector in addressing the economic impact of coronavirus, the nature of the policy response in Asia, and how the virus will impact different countries in the region.
How innovation and demographic factors will shape developing Asia’s growth were also discussed in the off-the-record briefing, held as part of an ongoing Asia House series of digital on the global coronavirus pandemic.
