Asia House, the London-based centre of expertise on trade, investment and public policy, has added another pillar to its corporate services with the establishment of a research and advisory practice.
Asia House Research and Advisory draws on the knowledge, expertise, and network built up by Asia House over more than 20 years to inform and advise public and private organisations on their strategic approach to trade, investment and engagement.
Asia House has launched the new service in response to increased demand for its Asia-focused market intelligence and trade and investment policy advice.
To lead the new offering, Asia House has appointed Ed Ratcliffe (pictured) as Head of Research and Advisory. Ed recently moved back to the UK after five years in the Asia region, most recently as Country Director of the Myanmar operations of ASEAN-focused government relations and political advisory firm Vriens & Partners.
Previously, Ed worked for international communications firm FleishmanHillard in Hong Kong where he worked on projects in Indonesia, the Philippines, South China, Korea and Japan. Ed started his career at FleishmanHillard EU advising clients on public affairs campaigns and engagement with the institutions of the European Union.
Charlie Humphreys, Director of Corporate Affairs at Asia House, said: “I am delighted to welcome Ed Ratcliffe to Asia House. Based on his notable experience in advising major corporate brands and his insights to business and policy between Asia and Europe, Ed brings an excellent set of disciplines to strengthen our offering at Asia House.
“Our Research and Advisory offering formalises the advice that we have been giving to many of our members and thought leadership clients over the past years. We are looking forward to working with clients seeking strategic advice on Asia, and organisations from Asia looking west.”
Commenting on his appointment, Ed said: “There is a growing market demand for Asia-focused research and advisory support as trade and investment increases between Asia and Europe. Given its history of providing meaningful support to organisations in this area, Asia House is superbly placed to meet that demand.
“I am delighted to join Asia House to build the advisory practice and look forward to working with governments and the private sector on their business-critical challenges.”
Services under the new Research and Advisory offering include policy research and political intelligence; strategic advice on market entry and expansion; finding practical solutions to business challenges; government relations and stakeholder engagement programmes; public affairs and media support; as well as seamless alignment with Asia House’s events and thought leadership publications offerings.
