    Carrie Lam shares insights on Hong Kong’s role in Belt and Road

    Hong Kong Chief Secretary for Administration The Hon Mrs Carrie Lam joined Asia House corporate members for a private briefing and roundtable discussion this morning on how Hong Kong fits into the Belt and Road initiative.

    Topics covered at the briefing included the ongoing progress of the Belt and Road and Hong Kong’s role in it, negotiations for a free trade agreement between Hong Kong and ASEAN, plans for greater connectivity within Asia and potential trade agreements once the UK has left the EU.

    Mrs Lam was former Director-General of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in London.

    Corporate members represented at the briefing included HSBC, Standard Chartered, Arup, G3, Nikkei, Jardine Matheson & Co, KPMG, and Linklaters.

    Carrie Lam wrote A hyper-connected world city for the Asia House publication, Asia 2025, which was launched in March of this year.
