The current state of US-China relations and the likely developments between the two powers were discussed during an Asia House briefing with Christopher Johnson, Senior Adviser and Freeman Chair in China Studies at the Center for Strategic & International Studies.

The former CIA China analyst briefed Asia House Corporate Members on the ongoing trade negotiations and possible future flashpoints, illustrating the discussion with unique insights gleaned from across the policy landscapes in Washington and Beijing.

The fascinating briefing, chaired by Asia House Chief Executive Michael Lawrence, shed light on the inner-workings of US-China negotiations and the forces influencing their progress.

Johnson also fielded questions on a wide range of topics, from the potential risk of regulation aimed at limiting private sector investments, to the capabilities and aims of the countries’ respective militaries.

Held exclusively for Asia House Corporate Members, the briefing illuminated what is arguably the 21st century’s most important geopolitical and economic relationship.
