His Majesty’s Trade Commissioner for Asia Pacific, Natalie Black CBE, spoke with Asia House’s Corporate Members on the UK’s trade ambitions in the region during a private briefing on 7 March.
The briefing touched on ongoing CPTPP negotiations, and other trade talks between the UK Government and Asian countries. Digital trade with Asia was also in focus, especially in light of the UK’s recent digital economy agreements with Japan and Singapore. Corporate Members took the opportunity to ask Natalie Black about the UK’s wider plans for Asia and the multilateral and regional cooperation agreements currently at play.
Chaired by Asia House Chief Executive Michael Lawrence OBE, and held at the think tank’s London headquarters, the briefing gave Asia House Corporate Members a unique insight into the UK’s trade outlook for the region within the priorities of the new Department for Business and Trade.
