Jeongmin Seong, Partner at the McKinsey Global Institute, provided Asia House with his latest insights on global trade during an off-the-record roundtable on Wednesday 25 September.
Jeongmin discussed the outlook for globalisation, focusing on the ongoing concentration, reconfiguration and interconnectedness of global trade. The US-China trade relationship, alongside the implications of the US election on inflation and global supply chains, was also discussed at the roundtable.
Asia House Corporate Members engaged with Jeongmin on a wide range of topics, including the shift of manufacturing to India and Vietnam, the influence of the US dollar on global trade, and the outlook for the business community in China, where Jeongmin is based.
Chaired by Asia House Chief Executive Michael Lawrence OBE and held in London, the roundtable offered valuable insights into the evolving global economy and how multinational companies can navigate the shifting economic and geopolitical landscape.
