Niclas Kvarnström, Managing Director for Asia and the Pacific at the European External Action Service, provided Asia House Corporate Members with the latest updates on the EU’s diplomatic and trade relationships with Asia at an off-the-record digital briefing on Tuesday, 16 January.
Niclas briefed members on the EU’s Indo-Pacific strategy, trade relationships with key economies in Asia, and geopolitical developments affecting the EU. Outcomes from December 2023’s EU-China Summit were also discussed at the briefing.
Asia House Corporate Members enjoyed the opportunity to ask Niclas’ views on a wide range of topics, including the EU’s position on the global race for minerals security, ongoing EU-China trade disputes, and the bloc’s climate transition policy vis-à-vis its relationship with Asian economies.
