The UK Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Simon Collis CMG, gave an insightful briefing at Asia House on the latest political developments and emerging business opportunities in the country.
Briefing Asia House corporate members, the diplomat covered a range of issues, including the demographic situation in the country, political and social reforms, and the economic opportunities arising from the Saudi Vision 2030 initiative.
Collis joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 1978 and, after studying Arabic, has served mainly in the Middle East and South Asia. He has held posts in Bahrain, Iraq, Syria and Qatar, as well as in Tunisia and India.
The briefing was part of the Asia House Middle East Programme – a series of events and research activity exploring the region’s role in the global economy and its relationships with Asia and the West.
