India’s economic outlook and the latest developments in UK-India trade talks were discussed during an Asia House briefing with the Indian High Commissioner to the UK, HE Vikram Doraiswami.
Speaking with Asia House Corporate Members, the High Commissioner shared an update on India’s economy and its priorities as it begins its presidency of the G20. Appointed as High Commissioner to the UK in September 2022, Doraiswami discussed the countries’ bilateral relationship, as well as India’s climate change agenda and the role the private sector can play in supporting India’s net-zero transition.
The briefing gave Corporate Members a unique opportunity to engage with the High Commissioner on a range of issues.
Doraiswami was asked about the timeline for a UK-India Free Trade Agreement, India’s commitment to the Just Energy Transition Partnership, and its ambitions in the digital health sector.
Foreign investment into India was also discussed in the off-the-record briefing, chaired by Asia House Chief Executive Michael Lawrence.
Held at the think tank’s London headquarters, the briefing provided Corporate Members with unique insights into India’s economic outlook.
