Asia House Brexit Series: UK Department for International Trade’s Mark Garnier
Minister for Investment at the Department for International Trade (DIT) Mark Garnier MP will join Asia House corporate members for a private briefing.
Mr Garnier visited South Korea and Malaysia in August, two fast-growing Asian markets, in a bid to boost trade and investment opportunities post-Brexit. He will outline DIT’s emphasis in the region with a focus on ASEAN and he will discuss post-Brexit UK-Asia trade priorities moving forward.

He has since taken responsibility for the investment portfolio for the Department and has responsibility for foreign direct investments into the UK and UK investments overseas.
Prior to this position, he was the Prime Minister’s trade envoy to Myanmar, Brunei and Thailand. He also served on the Treasury Select Committee (2010 – 2016) and the Parliamentary Commission on Banking Standards (2012 – 2014).
