Sir Danny Alexander shares AIIB update

It’s been five years since the launch of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), in which time it has grown into one of the world’s largest multilateral development banks. With the AIIB’s first corporate strategy review due this year, Asia House welcomed the bank’s Vice President and Corporate Secretary, Sir Danny Alexander, for a private briefing.

Sir Danny updated Asia House Corporate Members on the AIIB’s performance, the markets where financing has seen a particularly strong uptake, and the bank’s key strategy for the year ahead.

Sustainable infrastructure and the Belt and Road Initiative were also discussed in the off-the-record briefing, chaired by Charlie Humphreys, Director of Corporate Affairs at Asia House. The ongoing impact of coronavirus was also raised.

The briefing marked Sir Danny’s second visit to Asia House since taking up his role at the AIIB in 2016.
